Many people wonder why they should choose abstinence when there are many different ways to “protect” one’s self. The problem with these alternative forms of protection is that they do not provide enough protection. Yes, condoms may prevent pregnancy, but they do break. Condoms may prevent some sexually transmitted diseases, but you still can contract diseases that there is no cure for. This does not only apply to condoms, it applies to all forms of protection except abstinence.

The worst problem that alternative forms of “protection” fail to mention, is that they have 0% effectiveness against your emotional protection. Unfortunately, many individuals who do not remain abstinent until marriage find that they have emotional baggage that follows, such as feelings of regret. Protection against pregnancy and disease is just as important as protecting your emotional well-being.
