William Smith is the executive director of the National Coalition of STD Directors—a group focused on trying to raise awareness of STD’s.

He’s anything but assured when he recently said, “We are on the verge of a highly untreatable gonorrhea epidemic”. This is not good news. Untreated gonorrhea increases the odds for contracting HIV.

According to the Center for Disease Control there is one remaining class of antibiotics left to treat gonorrhea. More bad news.
